Scottish marine technology service company Nautronix announced a big Norwegian contract win at OTC yesterday.
It has landed a three-year deal with Norwegian firm Ocean Installer for the supply of survey services to support its offshore construction activities.
Nautronix is to mobilise survey staff and equipment on to the Normand Clipper, Ocean Installer’s long-term chartered construction vessel.
It is understood the value of the work could run into millions of pounds for Nautronix.
Chief executive Mark Patterson said: “We are delighted to be awarded our first major contract in Norway by Ocean Installer, and are excited to be working closely with the ambitious Ocean Installer team. This will be a very important and rewarding relationship for Nautronix.
“It emphasises the expansion of Nautronix to provide a new level of service and supply and reflects our strategy to grow our business in the Norwegian market.
“‘We have seen some very encouraging prospects for our NASNet and NASCoM product lines.
“This agreement will allow us to build on an already very strong team and help drive and grow our business into this very important market sector.”
Aberdeen-based Nautronix employs 82 people and the figure is set to grow by several more this year.
The company anticipates turnover to jump by more than £3million to around £12million in the current financial year and then go through the £20million mark in 2013-14.
Nautronix said recently that it had opened a new office in Stavanger, Norway.
It also named Jorn Berg as vice-president of sales for the country
Around 85% of the firm’s turnover is export business, with the US being its biggest market.
