North-east oil service business Fisher Offshore announced yesterday it had spent more than £5million upgrading its equipment.
The lifting, deck machinery and subsea excavation specialist said all the money had been invested at its Oldmeldrum headquarters.
Fisher also said a further £1million had been earmarked for new mechanical lifting and deck equipment.
Managing director Ian Diack added: “This is a significant investment for the company that will allow us to strengthen our service provisions to customers.
“We pride ourselves on having the largest, most comprehensive rental fleet in the UK and adding to this will further increase our product choice and availability, enabling us to respond to the most urgent customer demands.”
Fisher Offshore is part of Cumbria-based marine service group James Fisher and Sons.
