Offshore standby vessel operator Atlantic Offshore Rescue (AOR), of Aberdeen, said yesterday it had won contracts worth a total of £12million in the past few weeks.
AOR, formerly Sartor Offshore Rescue, added that the new deals meant it would provide support in the UK North Sea for Shell, Nexen, Hess and Talisman Energy (UK).
John Bryce, AOR managing director, said: “We enjoy a longstanding working relationship with Shell.”
Hess and Nexen are also returning clients, while AOR – founded in 1995 – is working with Talisman for the first time.
AOR employs 350 people, including 330 seamen and 20 office-based staff, and manages a fleet of nine emergency-response and rescue vessels (ERRVs) and four platform-supply ships out of Aberdeen.
Mr Bruce said: “We have invested heavily into our fleet and staff training, and are dedicated to continuing to do so.
“All of our nine ERRVs are currently fully utilised and we anticipate expanding the fleet with further vessels in the near future to meet client demand.”

AOR is part of the Norwegian Atlantic Offshore Group, which operates 24 vessels off Ireland in addition to in the Mediterranean, the southern Atlantic and North Sea.
