CHC Helicopter Services said yesterday it had teamed up with Step Change in Safety to address cross-industry issues around helicopter safety with an interactive awareness course.
It is said to give oil and gas workers a deeper insight into the safety of offshore flight operations.
Ian Taverner, regional maintenance manager at CHC, said: “The helicopter safety awareness course presents an opportunity for offshore workers to step inside the cockpit and experience a day in the life of a helicopter pilot with a step-by-step introduction to helicopter safety and operations, crew resource management, helicopter systems and tactical procedures with realistic, action-based scenarios in various environmental conditions.”
