Prodrill Energy Resource Solutions said yesterday it had picked up a three-year contract to supply drilling and well-engineering staff to a French oil major.
The Aberdeen firm added that the contract could be worth about £5million over the next year.
Managing director Louise Wood said it would also result in Prodrill supplying people to up to a further six countries over the period, taking its overseas presence to 30 countries. The new deal follows a previous contract with the same firm and Ms Wood said it would boost revenue from the client by about 20%.
She added: “This new contract demonstrates the company’s trust in us to deliver the right people for its growth plans into new territories; this is what we are extremely proud of.
“Taking a step back and looking at the climate overall, I am pleased to see that exploration and production remains strong, both here in the UK and internationally.”
Prodrill has 14 of staff, all operating out of its Aberdeen headquarters.
The company was formed in 2009 through a £2.25million management buyout of Granite City-based Sovereign Oilfield Group.
