Aberdeen company ffA (Foster Findlay Associates) has expanded its global business into Brazil.
The firm, a specialist in seismic-analysis software and services for the oil and gas industry, said yesterday its new office in Rio de Janeiro was a direct result of recent business development and growth in the region.
Managing director Jonathan Henderson added: “We have enjoyed increased business activity in Brazil and throughout Latin America over the past three years. Demand has grown with the launch of GeoTeric (ffA’s flagship product) earlier this year.
“The commercial consequence is that we need and are able to expand to satisfy the needs of our clients and their activities in the region.”
The firm hopes the new office will also allow it to pursue further opportunities in the area.
Agnes Campan, ffA’s global sales and marketing director, said the firm had increased its research and development teams and expanded sales and support divisions during the past year.
She added: “In addition, we have launched a global recruitment campaign to expand our workforce across all disciplines in each of our regional offices.”
The firm employs nearly 50 people at offices in Aberdeen, London, Houston and now Rio.
