Major international firms including DONG, Siemens and Areva, have been lined up for this summer’s annual East of England Energy Group (EEEGR) conference.
The event, set to be EEEGR’s largest ever all-energy summer conference, is seeing a change of venue this year.
It is being held at Trinity Park, Ipswich, on Wednesday, July 11 – event organisers say the conference had outgrown its previous venues in Norwich.
Keynote speakers include Tim Johns, contract manager procurement for DONG, Andrew Bellamy, senior industrial and supply chain project manager for Areva, and Siemens’ project manager Charlie Morris.
Joining them will be Chris Squires, NNB supply chain engagement manager for EDF Energy, and Carl Erik Gurrik, commercial manager of the Fred Olsen Group.
The afternoon session of the conference will split into four specific interest sessions focusing on: skills, the marine supply chain, decommissioning and new build projects – each with expert speakers.
“We’ve already lined up influential speakers from global energy companies, including DONG, Siemens and Areva which are interested in doing business with the East of England supply chain,” said Holly Harvey, EEEGR events manager.
“They’re coming not just to talk to delegates but to discuss specific projects and business opportunities for our companies across the energy sector. EEEGR2012 will meet the ever-increasing demand from the region’s businesses for information, advice and networking opportunities.
The traditional EEEGR Ladies Day social event at Great Yarmouth Racecourse will be held a week later, on the evening of July 17.
