Independent energy consultancy ADIL announced yesterday a surge in turnover plus a recruitment drive.
The Aberdeen company turned over £13.8million last year and this figure is expected to exceed £21million for this year.
ADIL, which celebrated its sixth anniversary in May, is aiming to expand current staff numbers from 90 to more than 180 by the end of this year.
Managing director James Paton said: “The market conditions in the oil and gas industry right now are extremely positive and we are seeing a growing requirement for ADIL’s services.
“For me, success is setting up a business that generates organic growth. Over the last 12 months, with significant new contracts won and the development of existing agreements, we have seen the company expand both its reach and its offering to the energy sector.
“We are keen to ensure that our staffing resources not only continue to meet the burgeoning industry demand, but that we’re ideally placed to continue our own organisational development.”
The new positions will be based predominantly in Aberdeen, with others throughout Scotland, the Middle East and Far East.
Mr Paton added: “I was confident at the outset that we could create a successful business, but ADIL’s achievements have exceeded expectations and I’m enormously proud of the company’s ongoing success – and indeed our aspirations for the future.
“Going forward, we expect to see further expansion both across the UK and beyond as we continue to do what we do best: combining technical excellence with innovative thinking and taking full ownership of everything we do.”
