A man has died after being injured on a boat anchored a mile off Aberdeen.
The 29-year-old man was working on the offshore supply vessel, E.R. Athina, when he was injured yesterday morning.
Her was taken ashore but died later at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The boat had left Aberdeen harbour on Saturday at around 1.40pm and arrived back yesterday at around 4.12pm.
Grampian Police said the man’s next of kin were being informed, and inquiries were continuing into the circumstances of his death.
He is not believed to have been local to Aberdeen.
The police were unable to give any further details about the incident last night.
The E.R. Athina, which is 305ft long and weighs about 4,650 tonnes, is owned by E.R. Schiffahrt.
The offshore unit of E.R. Schiffahrt manages 13 ships in service.
The fleet includes 11 modern platform supply vessels and two anchor handling tug supply vessels.
