Maersk Training officially opened its new emergency-response training ground yesterday at Portlethen, near Aberdeen.
The firm, part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, has invested £500,000 on expanding its facilities.
It is adding fire-team and boat training to its courses.
Eight jobs have been created over recent months to support growth plans, in addition to an existing 15 staff and contractors.
Maersk Training expects to take on a further 10 people in the next 12 months as the centre grows and more courses are added.
Maersk Training UK managing director Duncan Bonner said: “We have now entered phase two of our growth.
“After having firmly established ourselves in offshore survival training and getting a significant share of the market, we are now looking forward to even more companies using our facility.”
Maersk Training said at the start of last year that it had invested nearly £750,000 on the new training centre at Portlethen.
