Subsea 7 has picked up a £60.7million contract to build a 4.6 mile pipeline bundle system for the central North Sea, the firm said today.
The deal, with an unnamed international oil and gas operator, will see Subsea 7 carry out the project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the pipeline bundle – a large pipe which contains a number of other pipes, including production and gas lift pipeline and controls systems.
The bundle, to be built at Subsea 7’s Wick fabrication site, will be used to tie back a single production well to an existing subsea manifold and platforms, said Subsea 7.
Work on engineering and project management will be carried out in the firm’s London office starting this month with installation offshore expected in 2014.
Steph McNeill, Subsea 7’s vice president, UK and Canada, said: “We are pleased to be awarded this major pipeline project with this client, which builds upon our unique bundle technology.”
