Aberdeen marine-technology company Nautronix said yesterday it had won contracts worth more than half a million pounds for work on two drilling rigs in south-east Asia.
It added it would upgrade the positioning systems on two of Songa Drilling’s semi-submersible rigs operating in Malaysia. Nautronix said both rigs had been using its analogue systems since the early 1990s, but it would now provide digital acoustic technology for greater reliability. The work on the Songa Venus and Songa Mercur is due to be completed later this month and in August respectively.
