Global plant, lifting and tool-rental specialist ATR Group said yesterday it had made its first acquisition since completing a £20million-plus equity and debt financing deal.
ATR said it had taken over Underwater Engineering Services (UES), a marine and subsea support equipment hire business, for an undisclosed sum.
The Aberdeen firm said the managing director of Foveran-based UES, Jeff Riddoch, would continue to lead the company with his management team.
Keith Moorhouse, ATR chief executive, said: “UES is widely respected and has built up a significant track record for servicing the leading, specialist marine and subsea contractors.
“ATR Group is performing strongly and we have identified the subsea market as a key strategic area for many of our customers.”
ATR, which employs around 100 people, completed the equity and debt financing agreement led by NBGI Private Equity earlier this year.
