The retirement of Sir Ian Wood from energy services giant Wood Group at the end of October will lead to changes at the top of the business.
Chief executive Allister Langlands will take over as chairman, with Bob Keiller stepping into the chief executive role.
Mr Langlands, 54, has been with Wood Group since 1991, initially as financial director, then deputy chief executive and has been chief executive since 2007.
Mr Keiller, 48, is currently chief executive of the Wood Group PSN division, formed last year after Wood Group took over Aberdeen rival PSN.
Forfar-born Mr Langlands said: “I’m looking forward very much to taking on the chairman’s role and working closely with Bob, an experienced CEO who has performed well with the group since he joined us. Bob will be taking over a strong business in a growth market with an excellent management team and a clearly-established strategy.
“Under his leadership and direction, we are confident that the group will continue its successful growth.”
Mr Langlands dismissed as only “speculation” market chatter that Wood Group could become a bid target after Sir Ian retires.
Mr Keiller said being appointed to his new post was an ambition fulfilled.
He added: “Wood Group is a great success story, built on an exceptional leadership team, talented and committed people and a clear strategy over the years.
“Under my leadership, Wood Group will continue its focus on safety, growth, people, customers, strong values and performance.” He said the business was doing well and there would be no need to jump inand make significant changes to the way it operates.
In other moves, Robin Watson, the current head of Wood Group PSN in the UK, will succeed Mr Keiller as chief executive of the Wood Group PSN division.
