Alistair Birnie, pictured right, a former CEO of Subsea UK has been granted a visiting professorship by Singapore University.
He takes up his post within the NUS’s faculty of Mechanical Engineering on August 16 and will be covering subsea controls and subsea construction operations.
The appointment will hopefully be of strategic value to Aberdeen which, through the National Subsea Research Institute, has links with Singapore. A co-operation agreement was signed between NSRI and NUS in early 2009.
