Voracious GE (General Electric) is gobbling up Norwegian firm Presens, a provider of pressure, temperature and flow measurement systems.
The target will become a part of the US giant’s portfolio of sensing solutions and be integrated into the group’s measurement and control business within GE Oil & Gas.
The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions over the last 10 years that has spurred growth in GE’s measurement and control business.
This takeover is expected to enhance GE Oil & Gas’s presence in Norway and is touted as enabling customers of both companies to benefit from an innovative and integrated technology offer.
Headquartered in Oslo, Presens employs 36 and provides high-performance sensors, specializing in high-pressure measurements and severe environments.
The firm’s technology is proprietary. The design of its sensing element enables extremely accurate and stable measurement of pressure and temperature.
They generate data that is considered to be an ideal input for advanced monitoring and control systems, allowing them to operate to their full potential
