Fast-growing service business Aquatic Engineering and Construction said yesterday it wanted to double annual turnover to £60million by 2015.
The firm, which provides reel and tensioner services to the energy and telecommunications industries, has its eye on significant international expansion.
Aquatic, which is based in Aberdeen and also has an office at Peterhead, has already enjoyed 500% turnover growth over the past five years.
It aims to achieve £30million turnover this year and wants to double that in three years.
Aquatic president Chris Brooks said the company’s 115-strong workforce would also increase.
He added: “We are expecting to be very busy.”
Mr Brooks said the firm’s growth would come from international expansion, including new offices in key oil and gas regions.
He said that, although the company did carry out work in the North Sea, it was more focused on projects in the likes of west Africa, the Gulf of Mexico and China, but added: “Everything is managed out of Aberdeen and Peterhead.
“Our centres of excellence are here; despite our globalisation, this is our training centre and hub.”
Aquatic already has a site in Singapore, but Mr Brooks said it would not be the last.
He added: “Our international work is largely done remotely at the moment.
“Part of our expansion will be to set up offices which are a mirror image of our operations in Aberdeen. We operate in several regions around the world but we want a physical presence in all of them. We are looking at Houston and Brazil in particular.”
Aquatic is one of 17 companies owned by Acteon after being acquired by the Norwich-based group in 2006.
