Aberdeen oil and gas firm Ithaca Energy has said it is to carry out a drill stem test on its Hurricane discovery.
The company, which started drilling the find early last month, said it had found hydrocarbons, thought to be liquid-rich gas, in an eastern area of the Hurricane find.
Hurricane could be part of Ithaca’s £640million Greater Stella Area development, which the firm got the go-ahead to develop earlier this year.
Ithaca is operator on Hurricane, owning 54.66%, and the partners are Dyas UK with 25.34% and Petrofac Energy Developments UK with 20%.
