US engineering contractor KBR has been awarded a FEED contract by an unnamed client to perform work for the topsides and hull associated with a new-build, double-sided, single-bottom hull floating production, storage, and offloading vessel (FPSO) destined for offshore Angola.
The FEED has started and is expected to take a year.
The vessel is to be capable of storing a minimum of 1million barrels of oil. Its topsides will utilise a single train designed to process 80,000 barrels of oil and 90million cu.ft of gas per day at an export pressure of 3,500 psi.
Water injection facilities are to have a designed capacity of 130,000bpd.
Services for the project will be based out of KBR’s offices in Houston, Gothenburg, and Luanda.
