Bosses at a division of Aberdeen-based energy service giant Wood Group are celebrating a £15million contract to design and build a 75-megawatt gas turbine near Houston in America.
The work for NRG Energy subsidiary Petra Nova will be carried out by Wood Group GTS and is expected to be completed by summer, allowing the generation of power to a market serving 23million Texas customers. Jim McGlothlin, president of power solutions at Wood Group GTS, said: “We are pleased to be working with NRG on this exciting project, which leverages the combined strengths of our engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance support services, and our management of fast-track projects.”
