Sodexo revealed its biggest North Sea contract win yesterday, a deal running to hundreds of millions of pounds with Talisman Energy (UK).
The five-year deal is for food and facility-management services for 12 offshore installations, plus Talisman’s Flotta terminal and its Aberdeen offices.
Sodexo said the contract renewal was awarded following an extensive competitive bid process.
Nearly 300 Sodexo employees are involved in the Talisman work.
The value of the contract has not been disclosed, but is understood to be more than £300million.
Other clients Sodexo has in the North Sea include ConocoPhillips, Ensco, Diamond Offshore and Transocean.
Lindsay Tocher, Sodexo’s chief operating officer for global offshore and marine operations, said: “In the last three years, we have achieved 100% client retention, working closely with our existing clients to develop unique solutions to support the long-term sustainability of their business.
“This reflects well on the great job done by our people, who always rise to the challenge of continuous improvement.
“Clearly, our service and outstanding HSE culture and performance set us apart from the competition.”
Geoff Holmes, senior vice-president with Talisman Energy (UK), said: “Sodexo has been the incumbent on our assets over the past eight years and has held the contract for more than 30 years at Flotta.
“It has committed to approach the new contract with the same enthusiasm that it has demonstrated in the past. In evaluating the tenders, what stood out for the team was Sodexo’s shared commitment in creating the best place to work and in supporting a safety culture at Talisman with its flexibility, innovation and service improvements.”
Sodexo has its headquarters in Paris and some 413,000 employees across 80 countries. It has been delivering onsite service solutions to oil and gas industry clients in the North Sea for more than 40 years.
The North Sea HQ in Aberdeen is responsible for about 1,000 staff and serves 130 client locations. It is supported by offices in Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands.
