Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority Norway is to investigate the stability incident involving the nearly new, Italian semi-submersible drilling rig Scarabeo 8 in the Barents Sea on September 4.
The rig, owned by Saipem, is currently working for Eni on well 7220/10 in the Barents Sea. However, early last month, it developed a 5.7-degree list due to unintentional filling of a ballast tank.
The incident triggered an alarm and mustering of personnel. There were 140 people onboard when the incident occurred. The rig was back to normal after an hour.
