The head of Aberdeen-based BIS Salamis has left the industrial services provider to join offshore support specialist Viking SeaTech.
Former BIS Salamis managing director Mike Main has been appointed as Aberdeen-based Viking’s managing director for UK and Africa.
Mr Main, who has also previously worked for Kvaerner Oil and Gas and Petrofac, said he was joining Viking at a “significant time in the company’s development”.
“It is enjoying a phase of rapid expansion both geographically and in the range of products and services it provides,” he said.
“I am looking forward to developing the business further as an integral part of Viking SeaTech’s strategic vision for future, sustainable growth.”
Viking chief executive Bill Bayliss said Mr Main brought nearly 30 years of experience to the company. “He will be instrumental in driving and realising the goals and ambitions we’ve set,” Mr Bayliss said.
Viking SeaTech, formerly known as Viking Moorings until a relaunch of the business in April, employs 140 people and has targeted £60million turnover this year.
