Amec announced yesterday that one of its Aberdeen-based senior directors had left the business.
It said chief operating officer Neil Bruce had stepped down from the board as part of an organisational restructure at the international engineering and project-management company.
Amec added the restructuring was aimed at helping the company “more fully support the future needs of our customers”, but a friend of Mr Bruce said his departure would be a big loss for the business. Mr Bruce joined Amec in 1997. He received an honorary doctorate from the Robert Gordon University last year and was made an OBE for services to engineering at the start of this year.
