Subsea construction firm Ocean Installer has moved into a new headquarters in Stavanger to meet growth needs and is looking to open a base in Houston.
The firm, which leased offices in Aberdeen earlier this year, went into business in January last year and already has about 100 people based in its Stavanger headquarters.
The new offices, on Park2020 in the Forus area of Stavanger, have a capacity for 170, said Ocean Installer, and the potential to expand into other areas on the park in the future.
Ocean Installer currently has a backlog of about $160million, a total of about 140 staff and a growing fleet of subsea construction vessels.
“As we are experiencing rapid development it is important to have the possibility for further expansion,” said Steinar Riise, chief executive of Ocean Installer.
“Moreover, being part of the industry cluster at Forus will allow us to take part in the synergies of this area.
“The expansion of our Stavanger base shows that we are developing in line with our long-term growth strategy.
“We are very pleased, as this proves that we have been successful with regards to recruitment and that people wish to play a part in the further development of our company.”
