Norwegian company Prosafe has signed a letter of intent covering the construction of another semi-submersible accommodation rig at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore comparable to the Safe Boreas currently in build.
It is to be ready for operations in the North Sea in 2015, with the exact delivery date to be determined in the final yard contract.
Prosafe said that in addition to the new order, Jurong has, subject to board approval, granted two options for further new-builds, meaning that Prosafe now in total has options for three new-builds at the yard. The additional two options can be designed for either the Norwegian Continental Shelf or for worldwide operations outwith of Norway.
