A son of the north-east has beaten his peers among the FTSE 250 index to win a company secretary of the year award.
Duncan Wood, who works for oil explorer Cairn Energy, received his honour at the annual awards of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (Icsa).
Mr Wood, whose parents, Tom and Eileen, live at Kingswells, said the accolade came after a successful spell for Cairn. The former Hazlehead Academy pupil and Aberdeen University law graduate added: “The past year has seen Cairn make significant progress in delivering its strategy of rebalancing its exploration portfolio.”
The award recognised his role in a string of large and complex projects, including the overhaul of a company share scheme involving the return of £3.5billion to investors and a deal worth more than £5billion.
