Aberdeenshire oilfield service company Romar International says a two-year contract extension with US-based agent Deepwater Rental and Supply (DRS) is worth £945,000.
Under the agreement DRS will promote the Newburgh firm’s Magnogrid and EZ-Clean products in the US, an important target market for Romar.
Romar provides magnetic separation products and services for the offshore oil and gas industry globally. It entered into an agreement with DRS last year, which has led to US turnover more than doubling to £250,000-plus in 2012.
Romar commercial director Robbie Gray said: “Romar has experienced impressive turnover from the US region through our partnership with Deepwater Rental and Supply in the past two years.
“We are keen to continue this working relationship to expand our product line in the region and develop our reputation as a reputable supplier.”
Mr Gray said Romar’s participation in the Deepwater Operations Conference in Houston earlier this month was “a good opportunity for us to raise awareness of our product line among key players in the industry”, adding: “The conference was well attended and we have had a number of inquires following our presence at the event.”
The company has 15 employees and plans to expand this by a further five or six in the coming months.
Aberdeen-based Deep Casing Tools said yesterday it had signed two repeat orders worth a combined £1.2million; one in the UK North Sea, and the other in Saudi Arabia.
