Aberdeen-based energy engineering consultancy Apply Altra said yesterday it had helped to secure new business worth around £15million for its Norwegian parent.
Apply Altra said its expertise in delivering front-end engineering design (feed) studies was pivotal to Apply Sorco winning the deal with Eni Norge.
The contract – for three years, plus two two-year options – includes pre-operations, technical and maintenance support plus technical services during the operation phase on the Goliat floating production vessel in the Barents Sea.
Apply Altra has 60 people at its Granite City base, but no extra workers will be recruited specifically for the Eni Norge work.
Staff from both sides of the North Sea have worked together on several projects since Altra joined the group in 2011, but this is the most significant to date. Technical director Andy Redman said: “Apply Altra has become a centre of excellence for feed work within the group.”
