Aberdeen-based energy service giant Wood Group said yesterday one of its subsidiaries had won a £500,000 deal with a North Sea operator.
Wood Group ODL, part of global production-facility support division Wood Group PSN, will provide documentation and training systems to Nexen for its Golden Eagle area development.
John MacGillivray, UK general manager for ODL, said: “ODL previously delivered services to Nexen for a similar project in the Buzzard field and we look forward to extending this relationship by providing support to this prestigious UK continental shelf project.”
The £2billion Golden Eagle project, which is 68 miles north-east of Aberdeen and is thought to hold 150million recoverable barrels of oil equivalent, is expected to start production towards the end of 2014.
It will be developed using a wellhead platform and a production, utility and quarters installation, to be connected by a 230ft bridge.
