An offshore worker was airlifted to hospital yesterday after falling ill. The 37-year-old man was taken ill on the semi-submersible Stena Spey at about 8pm.
Shetland coastguard scrambled a rescue helicopter to the vessel, which was around 125 miles north-east of Shetland. The crew member was picked up at about 9.15pm, and taken to hospital in Lerwick. His condition was not known last night.
