Scottish engineering firm Weir Group has sold one of its divisions in a £23million deal. Weir said Babcock International had bought its Edinburgh-based LGE Process business, which designs and builds plants for the processing, storage and handling of liquefied gases. It came as Weir finalised a deal to acquire US rival Mathena for up to £237million. Babcock said it would combine LGE with its design service unit, which serves the naval and commercial marine markets.
