Aberdeen engineering consultancy Magma Products has picked up a £5million contract for the start-up of a North Sea development.
The contract win comes as the firm, set up in 2008, continues to grow after a move to Mugiemoss Road last May.
Magma has a team of 38 staff but is looking for an additional 20 engineers over the next three months as it looks to take on more projects.
Paul Rushton, the firm’s managing director, said: “This latest contract is significant for the business and one that highlights our capability to handle key projects where a high degree of expertise and understanding of all the engineering disciplines comes into play.”
Magma specialises in commissioning and start-up – the process of introducing first oil and gas to new projects, or following shutdowns, whereby checks, inspections, certification and tests are carried out on components and systems before handover to the operator or duty-holder.
