North-east shipping and energy service firm Craig Group said yesterday a new contract with oil giant BP was worth nearly £13million annually over three years.
Craig Group’s oilfield procurement subsidiary, Craig International Supplies, will provide services to BP’s bases around the UK.
The £12.8million-a-year deal has resulted in several new jobs at CIS’s Aberdeen headquarters, said the group.
CIS joint managing director Jill Macdonald said: “This has been a significant win for us.
“Securing new business with high-profile international oil and gas organisations has been a key part of our growth strategy, which we will carry through into 2013.”
It is the first time CIS has worked with BP in the UK and Craig Group said the deal reinforced the subsidiary’s position as the largest privately owned European procurement house operating in the oil and gas industry.
CIS has a £40million-a-year turnover and provides a wide range of products and services to the global energy industry.
Craig Group said the business had buying power worth nearly £4million a month, an increase of 25% since 2011.
