CHC Scotia, the North Sea arm of Canadian group CHC Helicopter, has a new man at the helm.
A spokeswoman for the company said Mark Abbey, previously marketing and strategic development director at Hampson Aerospace, had already taken up his new Aberdeen-based role.
Mr Abbey started his career as a mechanical craft apprentice with BAE Systems.
He has replaced Nick Mair as regional director of CHC Helicopter’s west North Sea business, which covers the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.
Mr Mair is moving to Australia to lead the group’s Asia-Pacific operations.
CHC Scotia said recently rising oil and gas activity helped it to an 11% increase turnover to £164.2million and a return to the black in the year to April 30, 2012. The helicopter operator also said it was confident of further growth and expected growing demand for its services to continue in the current year.
