Aberdeenshire firm RRC Controls Services has won a £2.5million contract from Premier Oil for its Solan oil field, west of Shetland.
RRC will design and manufacture four well subsea control systems for the greenfield project.
Premier is developing Solan, which is expected to produce around 40million barrels of oil and come on stream in the fourth-quarter of 2014. Ray Connelly, managing director of Gourdon-based RRC, said: “The award highlights RRC’s ability to deliver high quality and reliable subsea control systems for new or existing oil and gas developments in a very short timescale.”
The contract is due for delivery by the middle of this year.
Solan is one of the smallest standalone projects attempted on the UK Atlantic frontier and marks the first operatorship for Premier on the UK continental shelf.
