Wood Group Mustang said yesterday it had landed a Norwegian contract understood to be worth more than £30million.
Up to 200 people in the London and Kuala Lumpur offices of Mustang will be involved in the work.
Half of them will be new posts, mostly in London.
Mustang has been awarded the topsides detailed engineering and design of the offshore oil and gas production facility to be operated by Det Norske.
This will be located in the Ivar Aasen field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The contract was awarded to Mustang by SMOE, the Singapore engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the project.
Steve Knowles, president of Wood Group Mustang, said: “Receiving news of this project award was extremely gratifying.
“We are looking forward to starting work on Det Norske’s first major facility and developing an excellent relationship with them.”
