Industry body Oil & Gas UK yesterday welcomed a new board member, Phil Kirk, chief executive of independent oil and gas exploration and production company Chrysaor.
Chrysaor’s portfolio includes a 40% stake in the Solan development project, west of Shetland.
Mr Kirk said: “I hope that we can continue to encourage UK innovation and investment together with promoting the sector as a safe and exciting long-term career choice for young people.”
Chief executive of Oil & Gas UK, Malcolm Webb, said: “It is particularly appropriate to have a leader of a young independent oil and gas company on the board at a time when the UK continental shelf is experiencing something of a renaissance.”
