US super-major Chevron has notched up its 20th gas discovery offshore Western Australia since mid-2009 with its oddly British sounding Kentish Knock South-1 exploration well in the Carnarvon Basin’s Exmouth Plateau area.
The well encountered about 75m (246ft) of net gas pay in the Upper Mungaroo sands. The well was drilled in 1,168m (3,832ft) water depth to a total depth of 3,065m (10,050ft).
