Former BP chief executive Tony Hayward is close to a return to offshore oil drilling as new company Genel Energy plans a move into Africa.
Mr Hayward, who left BP in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, said Genel would stay focused onshore in Kurdistan but was beginning to spread its wings.
