Offshore service group Prosafe has won a £92million deal to provide an accommodation vessel for a major North Sea project.
The Norwegian firm said it had agreed a contract with Talisman Sinopec Energy to provide the Regalia ship to support the £1.6billion Montrose area redevelopment (Mar) project.
Prosafe said the vessel would be provided for about 15 months from August 2014 at the project about 140 miles east of Aberdeen. The company has also given Talisman Sinopec four one-month options.
Geoff Holmes, chief executive of Talisman Sinopec, said: “Mar is an exciting project with a substantial investment of £1.6billion.
“This project will extend the life of existing North Sea fields, developing around 100million barrels of new reserves.
“It is vital that we all continue to work together to ensure support and investment is made in this sector, creating new skilled employment opportunities throughout the UK and maximising the benefits of the oil and gas industry.”
