Energy industry bodies Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) and Step Change in Safety have announced the finalists for the 2013 UK Oil and Gas Industry Safety Awards.
Sponsored by Maersk Oil, the lunchtime event at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on April 24 will reward significant contributions to safety by individuals and companies. Seven awards will be presented, covering safety leadership, safety representative of the year, preventative safety action, most promising individual, innovation in safety, ideas in safety and workforce engagement.
Step Change team leader Les Linklater said: “It’s tremendously encouraging to see such quality entries. Safety is ingrained in the fabric of this major-hazard industry and it’s fitting to have a platform where the top safety achievers can be held in high regard.”
OGUK health and safety director Robert Paterson said: “We’ve seen a very high calibre of entries.
“I’d like to congratulate all the finalists and wish them all the very best of luck on the day.”
