There will yet again be a big Scottish presence at the world’s largest oil and gas show in Houston in the US in May.
Aberdeen-based Munro’s Travel Group and the Press and Journal are organising their regular visit to the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).
Munro’s said yesterday that demand had been such that all 300 rooms at the delegation’s HQ hotel, the Hilton Houston Post Oak, were now taken.
This is the 40th anniversary of the popular trip.
In addition to numerous oil service companies, the Scottish visitors include a wide variety of support firms, including banks, law firms and accountants.
Nearly 90,000 people from all corners of the planet attended last year’s show; a 30-year high and 14% ahead of the 2011 tally.
Munro’s managing partner Murray Burnett said 2013 was expected to be as busy as previous events: “OTC is an important annual event not just for us, but for all our clients throughout the oil and gas industry.
“We are looking forward to a vibrant and busy show.”
OTC takes place from May 6-9.
