Aberdeen branch of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has extended the deadline for student members wishing to apply for its 2012-13 bursary programme until Sunday, April 14.
Applications are open to those studying at Aberdeen, Robert Gordon, Heriot-Watt, Dundee universities, plus Strathclyde, which is about to launch SPE Aberdeen’s newest student chapter.
The bursaries – four awards of £2,500 and 20 awards of £250 – are open to undergraduate and postgraduate SPE student members studying oil and gas industry-related courses. Shankar Bhukya, chairman of SPE Aberdeen’s student development committee, said: “Our student members are the next generation of oil and gas industry professionals and it is essential that we support them in their learning.”
