Rope-access specialist AquaTerra Solutions has agreed a multimillion-pound deal for a North Sea project.
The north-east firm said it would support construction and upgrade work on Fairfield Energy’s Dunlin platform under the three-year contract.
AquaTerra will work alongside dutyholder Amec in the installation’s potentially hazardous concrete legs, using full breathing apparatus and escape systems.
Peter Robinson, managing director of the Kintore-based business, said he expected similar projects would come up in future because of the North Sea’s ageing offshore assets.
He added: “We’re delighted to have secured this contract as it underpins our growing relationship with Fairfield and with Amec.
“Given the associated risks, our onshore and offshore management teams are highly experienced and assembled to provide our clients with the confidence and competence that is continuously sought after in this industry.”
AquaTerra employs 25 staff onshore, with a further 100 rope-access specialists working offshore.
