Small explorer Fastnet Oil and Gas said evaluations had shown its Shanagarry project had similar characteristics to nearby producing fields in the central Celtic Sea.
Managing director Paul Griffiths said: “Geological similarities with both Deep Kinsale and Barryroe have now been independently confirmed,” adding that the time was right for a partner to farm in to develop an appraisal and development hub.
