Firms from the US will share solutions to the skills-gap problem at a breakfast during the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.
The Hands Across the Water seminar, on Wednesday, May 8 – the third day of the world’s largest energy event – in the Hilton Houston Post Oak hotel, is open to all Aberdeen companies attending the show.
Jerry Lowry, president of organiser Greenspoint District, one of the city’s largest business areas, said: “Hands Across the Water is designed to be an information-sharing forum between our two cities.
“We face so many of the same challenges, it makes sense to collaborate on solutions.”
The seminar will look at schemes including partnerships between public education and energy firms and employee-retention plans.
Speakers include the International Association of Drilling Contractors, Houston-based oil and gas firms, the city’s largest college Lone Star and editor of the Press and Journal’s Energy supplement Jeremy Cresswell.
