The UK’s National Hyperbaric Centre has launched new subsea-related courses in the Middle East and South Africa as part of the company’s global expansion plans to meet growing demand from clients.
Aberdeen-based NHC already delivers training in Baku, Brazil, and Spain and has joined forces with Unique System FZE in the United Arab Emirates and Unique Hydra in South Africa, to launch the new courses as part of the expansion of its subsea training department.
The centre offers a number of specialist training courses for commercial diving industry personnel and those looking to enter the sector.
It is anticipated that the OGP client representative; dive systems auditing & assurance; and dive technician courses will prove to be the most popular with candidates in the UAE and South Africa.
Training business development co-ordinator, Katie Davies, said of the new venture: “The courses have been launched in the new locations to meet growing demand from clients.
“We regularly have delegates at our Aberdeen facility from around the globe and the development of these training courses in foreign locations greatly reduces the financial impact on our candidates as it brings down their travelling costs.”
Assuming a successful launch into the UAE and South Africa, the NHC is planning on further expansion in the US and India.
The NHC was set up in Aberdeen more than 20 years ago and delivers a range of services including specialised training courses, testing and trial facilities, research and development, auditing, diving medical support, equipment certification, senior consultancy and lifeboat reception.
