An Aberdeen drilling firm has appointed a new managing director.
Geoprober Drilling said Ben Bamford, whose father, Tony Bamford, is one of the company founders, had been promoted to the top job.
Mr Bamford sen and business partner Dick Pearce have moved from their technical director and managing director roles respectively and are both now non-executive shareholders in the business.
Mr Bamford jun joined Geoprober as business development manager last year, having previously worked for banking group HSBC in the Middle East.
He said Geoprober currently employed 40 people but due to increasing demand for its services planned to “expand aggressively”.
The firm has forecast turnover of £6million in the coming year.
