Energy service firm Van Oord said today it had been awarded two pipe lay projects in Asia worth around £51million ($80 million).
The Dutch firm started work this week on the new single point mooring construction project for the S-Oil refinery in South Korea, which includes installation of pipeline and a pipeline end manifold (PLEM) system.
The second award is for the replacement of pipeline at the Taoyuan refinery in Taiwan. This project is expected to be executed in Q2 and Q3 of 2013.
The Dutch firm, which specialises in dredging, marine engineering and offshore projects, added the work would be undertaken by its new shallow water pipe lay vessel Stingray.
